Ayurveda

What is Ayurveda?

Why I’m inquiring with different kinds of natural medicine? I have the reason to educate us about how the people found for ways to cure around the world. I want to demonstrate the many alternatives to seek remedies. I don’t talk, which is the best, but to communicate the most used. This week I show the term Ayurveda (antique traditional system in India). According to webmd: “It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit”.  Similarly, the acupuncture shared the same purpose in their system.

In my reading comprehension, it’s very curious that the Ayurveda is based on Greek ideas on the step of healing. They follow that everyone is made by the fusion of the five elements: space, earth, water, fire, and air. This idea is also connected with the visual worldview in medieval times. According to this alternative medicine, the elements combined and create three life of forces: vata, dosha, pitta dosha and kapha dosha and one of this is dominant. I perceive that this idea is very archaic and didn’t have a scientific basis.

In my opinion, the Ayurveda followed more the religion that the human symptoms. In the website of webmd, they expose: “anything that affects your physical, spiritual, or emotional well-being can cause you to be out of balance with the universe”. Based on this terminology, the genetic or birth effects, injuries, climate and seasonal changes, age and even the emotions can disturb the balance. I agree that these items can affect the human health, but not the universe. The people cannot stop the climate and less the birth effects. Finally, they have the word “Prakriti” or they believe to stay the same for the entire life and anything can influence it.
